I’m Hunter Garcia, a photographer from Ventura County, California, with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Oregon, and pursuing a master’s in sports journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. My work spans fine arts exhibitions, freelance assignments, and sports coverage. I have presented my work at the LaVerne Krause Gallery during my undergrad, and covered several athletic events for the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
I combine a fine artist’s eye with the precision of commercial photography. Exhibiting fine art taught me to treat every frame as intentional, while freelance and sports assignments trained me to deliver clear, client-ready results. That mix lets me bring both storytelling and polish to each assignment.
Sports photography is a major part of my portfolio, but I bring experience from all genres into the field. On the sidelines, I look beyond scores and highlights to capture the intensity in an athlete’s eyes, the rhythm of a team in motion, and the atmosphere that turns competition into a story. My goal is to create images that outlast the season—photographs that record decisive moments and stand as works of art.
